We are excited to share that the ISC recently unveiled its new website, which provides a clearer picture of what we do, who we are, and where to find useful information about and resources for Workday. The improvements we made include:
- More details on Workday support, including what to do before and after submitting a request, and what the ISC provides support for.
- A new page on our online Workday Knowledge Base, and when and how to access it.
- Updates to our Workday training course lists to make it easier to find courses by role.
- New information about our role at UBC today, our teams, Workday and how we work with IRP Student.
- Clearer menu structure for improved site navigation.
In terms of design, we’ve made our website more visual, incorporating photos of the ISC teams and displaying information in new ways so it’s easier to find what you’re looking for.
To improve accessibility across the website, we followed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This included adding text alternatives to images, creating dynamic content that can be viewed from different devices (including assistive technologies), and making content easier to see and hear.
We’ve also expanded our website banner options, which appears under our main menu when in use. This will allow visitors to quickly see important information, such as an upcoming deadline or resolved issue. Previously, this was only used for emergency messaging.
Another key component of these updates was to ensure that UBC faculty, staff, and student employees who visit our website are directed to Workday Student information and resources, which are currently found on the IRP Student website. We also wanted to help clarify where to go for support.
Our new website reflects our commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and providing exceptional service to the UBC community. We will continue to update this website over the next year as we know more about the ISC’s long-term role in supporting Workday Student.
