Our online Workday Knowledge Base (CWL required) hosts over 400 resources on how to use Workday, both as an employee and to perform tasks as part of your job. These include step-by-step instructions on specific processes, FAQs, and more on a range of topics. Depending on their format and focus, knowledge resources may include images of steps in Workday, tips, and links to other related resources.
Knowledge Resources for Workday Student
For knowledge resources on Workday Student, visit the new Workday Student category in the Workday Knowledge Base or visit the Training Hub on Confluence (CWL required).
How to Use the Knowledge Base
Our Workday Knowledge Base is accessible to all faculty, staff, and student employees with an active CWL.
To find information on a particular topic, you can use search or browse by category (e.g. HR Tasks). For more detailed instructions, see UBC Workday Knowledge Base 101.
Note: Our knowledge resources are updated regularly, based on updates to Workday and community feedback. Always check the current version to ensure you’re following the latest guidance.
When to Use
The knowledge base is useful when you need quick help to complete a specific task or run into an error in Workday, while our training courses (CWL required) provide a more complete overview by role (e.g. Manager) or topic (e.g. expenses). The knowledge base resources cover Workday processes, but may not address all scenarios or include details specific to a UBC unit or faculty.
Find a list of popular resources on the Access the Workday Knowledge Base page in the UBC Self Service Portal.
